Fill your Summer with Science! Every year as a teenager, I used to look forward to the summer, not because of the school break, but of the summer camps. Every year, I wished the summer lasted longer so that I could participate in every single event. Now, as a young scientist, I am no different and I still wait for the summer to come with great excitement. Participating and organising a summer camp is a unique experience. You challenge yourself, you grow and become more independent, you meet the most amazing people, you overcome barriers, you work with people you've just met and realise you make a team together, you stand up in front of your peers and you support them when you are in the audience. And when you go home, you take more than that one week away, you take home the enthusiasm and passion, the lessons learned, the friendships, the memories. My first ventures into the world of science meetings and camps were in Portugal, with Associação Juvenil de Ciência (AJC). In 2014, they have prepared a surprise for you and the 32nd Youth Science Meeting is now open for international participation. Organised 'by youth for youth', AJC invites you to join them in Aveiro, Portugal, between 20th and 27th July 2014. Registrations and more information is available on their website www.ajc.pt. Next summer, you can surf through a programme of both well-established camps and new adventures. The International Summer Science Camp is back and features cross-border (Germany - France) activities.
